I assume you are talking about the lnb position.

Looking at the dish from the lnb side, the hotbird lnb is on the right and the 19.2E lnb is on the left.

Dont forget the beams cross over. Both lnbs point at the centre of the dish.

:? Now I'm confused!!!!
Do you mean looking AWAY from the dish or looking AT the dish from the LNB side?
According to diagram in What Satellite magazine Hotbird at 13 degrees is to the RIGHT of Astra at 19 degrees pointing South.
I wish I was clever - My brain hurts!!!!!

Yeah, that's the way I'm reading it!
Dish has to face south to pick up signals from satellittes, so East is to the left - 13, 19.2, 28.2 and so on...
Now I know why I always get lost driving on holiday!! I don't know my right from my left .

I had the same problem - have a look at the thread entitled "Trouble with two LNBs" - we all seem to have trouble with this "mirror image" concept as I did, but there are very helpful people out there and I now can receive signals from three satellites using two dishes.

OK, I hate confusion, so here it is:

Case one. You have a single LNB.
You are standing behind the dish, so that the boom arm is pointing away from you and the LNB is facing backwards towards you. East is left, West is right. Hotbird is 13E and Astra 1 is 19.2E - i.e. Astra 1 is FURTHER EAST (further left) than Hotbird and tad lower in the sky.

Case two. You have two LNBs or a monobloc. This is where things get tricky, because your dish face acts like a mirror, so the LNB positions are the other way round to what you might expect. Again, you are standing behind the dish. The Hotbird LNB will be on the left, and the Astra 1 LNB on the right.

See http://www.satellitehelp.co.uk/forum...sg4414#msg4414

Hope that explains it

Hi Stick,
What a most patient and helpful chap you are!!!!
That explains a great deal ! I didn't know about the "mirror" concept using 2 LNBs.
I take it same "mirror" concept would apply using 3 LNBs(Hotbird, Astra 1 and 2) which is what I hope to instal some time?
