Default Streaming to PC vs Progdvb

I have just tried the two options.

Streaming C More HD channel from my Dreambox to my PC gives a rock solid very detailed picture.

Opening the C More HD channel via ProgDVB gives a very unstable picture with frequent lockup and pixellation. Obviously my AMD XP 64 3200+ is not fast enought to run Progdvb in HD mode

What were you streaming from the Dreambox with Jim, VLC?

I use Dreamview, which is a very small programme which in turn uses vlc as the streaming programme. Dreamview downloads all the dreambox channel lists etc and controls the dreambox.

To use Dreamview, it is necessary to install vlc with the ActivX plugin, so if you already have vlc installed it is necessary to uninstall it and reinstall with the plugin.

This Dreamview file is attached.

The only problem I have found is that the channel lists dont show alphabetically and I cant seem to organise them. The channels are however listed under the individual satellites. It is necessary to search for the channel you want.

Ahh, yes - you did say elsewhere.

Thanks for that.

Do the latest versions of VLC work OK, because I seem to remember that versions after (0.7.4?) were problematic, though I can't remember why!

I see VLC have tarted up their website somewhat.
