Well its finally come back from the powder coating and its bright.
Its now even brighter than when it was bright orange. I have tried to take several pictures but i am unable to get rid of the glow coming from the dish. ![]() I have put it together now and i am just waiting for the weekend to fit the lnb to see what i can get from it. ![]() I'm hoping to use it for the birds to the west if i can get line of sight (tree in the way) I think i can get 1w 5w and 30w so there should be some quality channels out there.

Whoa! What a lovely bit of kit
![]() That's cracking nano - and not another one like it on the planet ![]() 30W is the place to be out west. D+ and CABO sometimes open. Lots of feeds out on the western side too. You should keep your eye out for a cheap polar mount on eBay. They often go for peanuts.

Basically it's a swivel joint for your dish, allowing it to swing from side to side. By adjusting the angle of the mount, and dialing in what's called a little 'declination' on your dish bracket to compensate for your latitude, your dish will track the satellite arc.
You can then either move it and lock it off by hand, or add a piston-type device called an actuator to do it for you. The axis of the polar mount is always set up so that it aligns exactly with the axis of rotation of the Earth, hence the name. The mount on its own is often dirt cheap, and saves lots of manual alignment hassle if you reposition your dish frequently. You can always add an actuator at a later stage, or just swap it for a DiSEqC motor. I've seen them go for as little as £5 on eBay. STICK

So thats what it is.
Not sure how much use it would be to me though because i have quite a few obstacles in the way. To get the eastern birds the dish has to be at the far right of the garden and to get the western birds it has to be at the far left of the garden. ![]() Its a bit of pain but there isn't much i can do about it other than cut down a tree and blow up my neighbours house. Neither plan is really viable unfortunately.

Trees do unfortunately die 'for no reason' if you were unlucky enough to have some idiot bang enough copper nails into the root system :
![]() Unless it's a nice old tree, in which case you'd obviously have to move house.

Moving house is not an option, nor is killing the tree. Its an Elderberry tree and it always makes a good supply for my wine in the autumn.
![]() Free alcohol doesn't come along very often. Tastes like s**t but it gets you ratarsed really quickly. :roflmao:
