Default ITV idents

Heres a poll everyone in the UK who is old enough to remember the mid 1980's can take part in. Back in the days when we only had 3 tv channels, satellite tv was for folks who has a lot of money and room for silly sized dishes.

In these halcyon days every ITV region had its own identity stings between programmes, and when you were watching a network programme then you got to see the idents from other ITV regions.

Most folks will remember the big channels like Thames, Yorkshire, Central or Granada.

But which is the forum favourite ident?

Heres a youtube link with all the above idents on it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQ4nBvzgo9E

Watch it and vote!

Thames wins hands down! Classic.

The crocodile coming out of the water on the right hand side gave me nightmares as a kid. Really.

The BBC testcard with the skull on it used to do the same thing (subject of another topic methinks...).

I have to say, that I also failed my Rorschach Inkblot Test miserably

Most hated? A toss up between Anglia and LWT.

Anglia always heralded the start of some really crappy program like antiques bumhole, Sale of the Century or something equally bad.

LWT meant that Friday night had arrived, which in turn meant that I lost control of the TV viewing, and my parents would want to watch 'The Good Old Days' or some such tosh.

Some of those idents made my hair stand up on end

Good find

OK, you're obviously not as disturbed as I am.

The Thames logo with croc jaws highlighted. Very scary.

Totally blood curdling is the skull on the testcard. Highlighted is the skull. Ignore the dismembered clown head. That's just there to fool you and **** you up a bit more.

The skull is looking towards the girl, and we are seeing the rear left. The nose is arrowed, and there are two glaring reflections on top of the skull.

There. Not so cute now is it?

have you spotted the fatal flaw in the design of Tower Bridge in that cap??

The drop down on the pic is hopelessly short - when closed there would be a ruddy great gap in the middle!

:roflmao:

Obviously designed so they never have to raise the bridge for sailing vessels!
