Managed to pick up astra 19 then hotbird 13, moved dish the other way and got a very faint astra 28 - only 40% signal. The best signal on any sat has been 49%. The other prob is that men and motors does not appear on my prog menu. Tried scanning manual with c0-0rds 12422 but no resonse. any ideas!!!

I'm only getting a signal strength of around 55% on my 88cm dish, but there's perfect video and audio.
Just watching a bit of Quadrophenia ![]() Have attached a screenshot of channel properties to help you confirm your settings. You might have to update your definition - I had to rescan it to get it to work, so they've obviously made changes recently. Good luck - keep going! ![]()

Hi broxburnmotors,
having read through the thread I'm guessing that you're moving the dish by hand to find these satellites, if this is correct then you are doing a good job given your location and size of the dish. Getting the strongest signal takes patience and a little gentle dish positioning, if you're getting a signal off Astra 28.2E, very gently manoeuvre the dish left and right until you get a strong signal, and then very slightly tilt the dish until you get your strongest signal. Then check you are on the right satellite by checking the channels on your receiver, it is very easy to align your dish on the wrong satellite. Keep persevering and keep us updated on your progress. Best wishes Mickha |

I have found out I have a faulty receiver
I swapped it out with a frriends 12 volt maplins SL65 and found astra 28 in 2 mins. I am now in a position to take mine back to lidls and start again. Any threads you can point me to as a cheap non motor driven setup?. |

With a 90cm+ dish and 4 LNBs you can cover four sats 20 odd degrees apart.
It's not that much cheaper than a motor, but it's quicker to switch and silent. Have a look here. This one includes 28.2E as an example. Is there a reason you don't want a motor? It would give a lot more flexibility. Have a read of this to help you decide.
