Yeah, but DiSEqC motors don't last forever and if it's had a big dish on it for a couple of years it could be shot. People do tend to overload them.
For just £20 extra your getting a brand new motor with a years guarantee ![]() Who said I was a pessimist?

Acutely Stick that last post makes me feel better about it.
After all it would probably only take one missing gear tooth and you could end up completely missing a satellite ![]() |

Well the motor has finally arrived
.I was starting to get a bit worried ,but i see its come direct from Germany. So much for next day delivery : ,they must have meant next week delivery ![]() Looks well built and seems fairly hefty ,so much so that I'm wondering if my dish bracket is going to be strong enough It's a 32mm tube wall mount? Also the instruction books all in German so now I'm off to search for a English version on line. Looks like a busy weekend ahead. |

Your mount should be 2" diameter really (50+ mm) and adjustable.
I wouldn't bother with the manual too much. Try our guide here. You only really need one figure from the manual, and that is the calculation for setting the dish angle. As an example, the Moteck SG2100 paperwork states the angle to be (40 degrees - declination angle) and there will be a similar calculation for yours. Most motors are slightly different. I'd be interested in seeing a close-up picture of two of the motor if you have a digital camera to hand. STICK

Oh cool! Mine hasn't arrived yet and I was starting to get worried - I've got the invoice! "New toy not here yet"!
I'll expect it any moment! Time to dig out the old Sprachen Sie Deutsch Linguaphone tapes then! ![]() Alcina

OK, cool. Thanks for the pics.
I can now reveal (tada!) that you don't have a STAB motor, or even a STAB clone. In fact it's nothing like the one in the advert (pic attached below...)! Don't panic though, because its a re-badge of the excellent Moteck SG2100A - the same motor I have. It's an excellent piece of kit and you won't be disappointed with it. Be warned on two points though. 1) It doesn't go up the same way as the (what I think is probably a genuine STAB HH-100 or HH-120) motor picture in the advert. The bent output shaft points downwards on this motor. 2) DO NOT overtighten the square 'U' bolts that come with it. They are made from rubbish material and you will either shear them off on tightening, or the first time you come to undo them. When you've finished your install, slap loads of grease on the threads, otherwise 2) will happen anyway! They won't fail in service, only when you're spannering them. You still got yourselves a very nice bargain ![]() BTW, you can get the English manual here.

After reading the manual you seem to have a good quality motor for a very reasonable price, and it's capable of working with a 1.2M dish, it might be worth motorising one of my old dishes, and getting a second receiver set up, as the costs seem to have plummeted since I first started !!!!!!!
Very nice find riche173, and enjoy your new viewing options. |

Many thanks for the info.
The manual is identical to the one i got with the motor ,apart from the language of course. It's also good to know that I've got a decent bit of kit for my money. No progress on the install yet as I've a slim chance of being given a 100cm mesh dish, so I'm holding out with fingers crossed for that. |
