best to start your own topic instead of posting in another thread.
take a look inside the section for the forum sponsor southern satellite, i'm sure he has put some deals together for motorised systems with or without hd receivers |

How does this work with the receivers that advertise being able to simultaneously record 2 feeds while watching 2 others (with PIP)? Icecrypt is one like this, for instance. I thought that I only need to hook 1 cable to a twin-tuner sat receiver before... So am I wrong then? |

Each tuner requires a feed from the LNB, so 2 tuners = 2 cables. With sky+ for example, while your watching sky1 on tuner A, You can record BBC1 on tuner B.
Can you tell us a Model number of an Icecrypt that does record 2, while watching 2 ?

Hi guys,
I'm hoping you can help me out. I'm just doing some building work on my new house and that includes a full re-wire. I was thinking about trying to get all the Sky/Virgin cabling done while the work is getting done. I have Virgin at the moment, but am thinking about changing to Sky. I want to make sure I am all wired up for both. How many coax cables do you need for sky hd? and how many do you need for a Virgin HD box? Also, if I want to wire up for multi room, how is it wired? Do I need to run 2 coax from the box to the other room? Or can I take additional cables from the satellite to the other rooms? Really confused at the moment... Thanks, Alex P.S. I want to have Sky in living room, but would like multiroom in bedroom and possibly kitchen too... |

Sky + and HD boxes need two feeds from the dish, single tuner receivers only need one. But run two anyway in case you change your mind.
All cables have to go back to the dish, or muiltiswitch (eg in the loft). Virgin normally do the cable running, but anyway, only one cable to each box is needed, whatever it is.
