Default Satellite Help down for maintenance today or tomorrow for 24 hours

Advance warning that the site will be closed while we switch hosting companies in the next day or two.

The DNS ripple will take up to 48 hours to reach the far corners of the planet, but we'll bring the site back up on the new server after 24. This will also give plenty of time for testing and setup.

We are about to hit our bandwidth capacity, so it's time for an upgrade! The site seems to perform quite well on the current host, but the server we're moving to is faster still, and gives us a lot more room to grow.

More disk space and 25gig of bandwidth a month will see us move up to the next level.

Any significant news regarding the switch will be posted on the front page.

Thanks for your understanding and continued support.

OK, all done

Back to 'business as usual'!

The next upgrade will be to the forum software itself, when SMF 1.1 Final is released. It won't be for a while, and it shouldn't cause much of an outage. I'll try to give everyone plenty of warning, unlike this time

I just had a spare couple of days and decided to bite the bullet before it bit me :spite:

That didn't hurt, did it? Well it didn't at this end anyway.

Well done Stick.

Not too bad.

All satellitehelp.co.uk email is broken, the portal RSS feeds are trashed and the visitor counter still needs fixing, but it's getting there

Blimey talk about going cold turkey! Good to see it up and running again and yes it does seem faster, although the real test will be after 6pm. :?

Well done Stick
