Have you found where to put the usb stick?

In addition to installing the emu in usr/bin, you also have to modify the emu selection file. That file varies depending on which image you are using. For the Gemini image the file in usr/script 'emuname'.sh needs to be either added or modified. If you do a download from the URL server the batch file automatically does it all for you.

If you install it manually using a .tar.gz file it is all done automatically when you select the file from the install window. If you do it manually by installing the individual files you need to do a bit of reading.

Its not quite as difficult as it sounds once you get your head around the basic principles.

The DS Sunrise image is a good one to start with because everthing can be downloaded.

LOL

If you can temporarily forward either port 21 or 80 from ICS to your DB, I can check to see if your Dreambox can see the outside world.

Stick - Tks

To Start all over again. The present comm settings are as follows

DB
192.168.1.6
255.255.255.0
DNS: 192.168.1.1
G/way 192.168.1.10 (This is the ip of my PC)
DHCP = off, Network = Enabled. Port 80

PC
192.168.1.10
255.255.255.0
G/way 192.168.1.6

I have Gemini 3.10
No Emu/Cam installed
Blue-Panel - Addons - Auto does not work. Also tried downloading Camd3.880i from from i-have-a-dream-box and installing manually using DCC but could not succeed.

Now I am stuck. Pls tell me how to proceed from here.

Tks for your patience.

Hiya.

First off, set the gateway address on the Dreambox to 192.168.1.1, the same as the DNS.

Now, leave the Dreambox settings alone.

Let's talk about your PC. You have a modem, yes? Is it internal or external?

Your PC also has an Ethernet connection which connects to your hub/switch. How many Ethernet ports does the PC have in total? Just the one?

Can you screen print and post the page showing all your network connections. This is where the problem lies.

I'll walk you through this, and we'll have it working in no time

Yes, I realise you're in Kuwait

I love the Internet. It makes the world a very small place

Hi supermario,
I have sent you an email attaching the necessary files with instructions on how to install them.

What Stick meant was that you need to open those ports which are the ftp, telnet and http ports which in turn give access to your dreambox. All files can be entered and manipulted through those ports.

Based on those PC settings, the Dreambox isn't connected to the Internet yet

Let's see the network connections. Something is wrong there.

OK, go into network connections, select your ethernet connection (right click) select properties, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then Properties. Set the IP address to 192.168.1.1. Set the gateway address to 192.168.1.1.

Save it and reboot your computer. Reboot the Dreambox. Let me know when it's done.

Hi Stick
Yes, I restarted the PC and the DB too
But now I see that the network is searching. A yellow dot going around the two pc icons in the right side where internet icon and network icon is shown.
