Oh, I should say that the Gemini servers don't carry keys any more. If you have trouble finding them, let us know and we can point you in the right direction. As I said it would help if we knew which sats you can receive.

Look for a key bundle by Sin or Mach1 and follow the insructions to FTP them into your Dreambox. You will have to either restart the emulator via blue button and then green button or reboot the Dreambox after adding the keys.

The DS image is one of the very few with a complete download service.

Cool.

You'll get some 'good' stuff from Hotbird.

I'm not sure what Jim sent you, so I'll let him take you to digital nirvana now we have you connected!

You can download more images than you can shake a stick at here

_h**p://www.dreamboxworld.com/dbw/main.htm

remove the front underscore and change the ** to tt. You can use 7000 images on the usb stick on the 7020 but dont try to put them in flash.

As a newbie, its worth looking at the 7000 file structure for the image. It is much simpler and easier to follow than a 7020 image.

You use FlashWizard 6.3 to install images on usb. Now that you have your IPs sorted you can download all the addins direct from the internet.

Do a search for FlashFXP and install it on your PC. You can use that to examine the files etc on the DB. Whilst DCC and some other programmes do it all for you, you dont learn much.

Hi Jim
Tks a lot for the info. Yes, I have d/loaded the flashFXP, however, I was not able to connect the same to my DB. Can u pls assist me to get connected to the DB and also the procedure to sent the file to the DB. I have to get it once and then it would be easy with me. Sometimes things are very easy but dummies like me cannot crack a nut.

Tks again

In general terms, you will need to set up a new connection in your FTP client.

The details you will need are:

Name: Whatever you want
Hostname/IP address: Either ftp://192.168.1.6 or just 192.168.1.6
Username: root
Password: dreambox
Port: 21 (you probably won't need to enter this, as it's a standard value)

That's it. Click connect and you'll be able to see all the files in the Dreambox.

Be carefull you don't mess about with them too much until you know what you're doing, but don't be too cautious either - you can always reload the whole image if you need to.

Get that USB stick installed, as it's far safer and far easier. Once loaded, you will find the USB-stored images at /var/mnt/usb/fwpro.

[Edit] The board software seems to want to insert a broken/half link on the ftp address :? Just ignore it, I can't turn it off!

supermario, I am sure you are not a dummy, you are just delving into a new and exciting world.

I think Stick has given you all the info you need to connect your pc to your DB using FlashFXP. You should have the PC screen showing 2 panes in the window. I always have the left window showing the PC files and the right window showing the dreambox files.

To connect to your DB, just click on the lightning symbol at the top of the DB files pane and then enter the info as given by Stick. After you have entered it for the first time, in future, you just select the entries by clicking on history. That option is very useful because you can connect to anyones DB around the world providing you know their IP and their password. Its an easy way to help out friends if they have a problem.

To transfer files from the PC to the DB, and vice versa, you right click on the file or folder and select 'transfer'

Good luck.
