hi Jim/Stick
HRU today. Again, need your help. I tried to transfer the "S" bundle from PC to DB using flashFXP, I can see the file ....bundle_11_1_(1).10.6.tar.zip 247kb in the /usr/keys/ on the flashFXP but when I go to the DB, open blue-panel - Addons - /usr/keys/ I cannot see the bundle to manually install. Where am I going wrong. Pls assist.

Hello Jim/Stick

Its me again bugging you. How can I know whether the bundle is activated. I restarted the DB and tried to open the scrambled channel but it want open. Is there a way to check if the bundle is actived and see the keys inside any folder of my DB?

Pls excuse me for troubling you.

Hi m8.

You may not have picked up on what Jim said back in reply#3

What that means is that you must unzip it first, and transfer only the .tar.gz file INSIDE the zip file. Then you will be able to see it and install it from the blue-button menu.

OK, would you like another walkthrough?

If so, can you just confirm which Gemini Image you are running, and what it is you're trying to install.
What emulator(s) do you installed already? 'S' bundle doesn't mean anything to me.

You can say what you like here as long as you don't post any keys etc.

The 2 files were both tar.gz files that had been rarred.

You need to unrar them which will give you 2 files that end in .tar.gz

The rar bit is a form of file zipping done by WinRar. If you dont have that file you need to download it.

When you get the 2 tar.gz files you need to transfer them from the pc to the root folder which looks like /tmp in the dreambox.

Let me have a note of your current IP address and I can transfer a working backup of DS Sunrise directly to your Dreambox. Do not post the IP here but email it to me.

Hi Jim

Tks for your patience. Yes. I have emailed you the dtls. However, I have to learn bit by bit in days to come. I dont want to play with my DB flash and damage it. I am planning to buy a seperate USB 256 mb flash exclusively for my DB with which I can play.

Tks again and sorry for bugging u.

Hey, that's what we're here for! Bug us all you like!

WinRAR is a must-have tool. If you don't have a copy, get one and install it.

WinRAR is just like Winzip only better. It does everything that Winzip can do and a lot more. It's shareware.

You simply uncompress each layer of the compressed files you have until you get down to the .tar.gz layer and then FTP it across.

See if you can WinRAR installed in the next 24 hours in preparation for the next bit.

I take it that you have Gemini in flash? In that case I would wait until you have your USB stick, and install another image on there using Flashwizard Pro. Then you'll be ready to setup all your files and one of us will talk you through, or hook-up to your Dreambox and do it for you.

Also, have a good read of this. it'll tell you which emulators need which files, and where they go.

I would just pick one emulator to start with. I'd go with Evocamd because it works well with TPS. Another good one is camd3. G B O X is another favourite, and Newcamd is very popular. You'll decide which ones you like after a while. New hacks usually come out on one emu and then spread very quickly to the others.
