I think it has to do with us being close to Holland and germany .
Seem to much cheaper their then here...

Also same goes for dishes and so on ..
A 88cm triax dish retails for around 38 euro's ..

Here in Belg. they kind of scam you for everything.. Unless you find that one decent shop
Might go get myself a steel pipe 1,5 m .. Mount it to the bracket then mount the sat.
Then next month add a motor Should be nice ..

Had fun last night moves some tiles so i could turn more, apparently the misses changed some settings on the receiver, when i selected Astra2E it read 61% signal, quality between 41 - 70 ...

But strange enough it was receving the astra 1 on 19 ... So seems to be weird..
Because there is quite a distance in were i point it for ASTRA on 19 ....

Well reset the decoder (factory restore) then it gave me 15% signal on 2E and 66 on 19E ...

So will have to muck around a little more

Stop it, you're making me cry! :'(

:roflmao:

With the dish fixed in one place, if you switch the receiver between satellites you will often get either a strong signal, or even a picture. This is because the transponder frequencies etc. are not unique between satellites. So 12345 V might exist on three different satellites.

Don't forget to put those roof tiles back when it rains!

When you mount your pole, make sure that it's 100% vertical in all directions, otherwise when you add a motor it won't track the satellite arc properly.

Keep us posted!

(damn i forgot the tiles, although its only a shed so don't care too much)
I'll try and get a pic up with the current install.. And direction pointing whats were maybe you can point out a location which might be good to hang everything up ..

I just have to keep clear of the surrounding walls .. and the roof of the house which is most likely blocking the Sirius sat.

Yes, a picture would probably give us a good idea, if you can indicate due south on it

Otherwise i could take a pic while its pointing at Astra 19E ..
Got it wrong on the triax dish its going for 33 euro's not 38

Funny i got my dish and decoder second hand on Ebay .. for 60 euro's. .
And the Decoder goes for a 155 new .. so i'm lucky their ..

Still its gr8 for playing around with .. And their are quite a few nice features for Sunny online ..
Its uses the same firmware as for Kaon .. Wonder if i can build a harddisk in it ..

Think i'll open it up and have a peak ..

Pic's should be up by Saturday evening
Getting Dish mount done tomorrow evening. Adding a extra M in Length someone i know does all kindof welding ..

So that should solve some issue's with the blocked view.. and turning further east..
I might even be able to receive sirius then ..

Hey, great news timo3.

We look forward to the pics

Don't forget to make sure that pole is precisely vertical, or you'll be very disappointed!

Lets hope so, dismounted the dish this morning (really early before leaving for work)

Kids were wondering what the hell i was doing and why i put it in the car ...
Hope they don't think that i' m installing some monkey-bars .. ;

Maybe a good test to see if it can hold a lot of weight, kids the kids to hang on it hehe ..
So hopefully by this time tomorrow i'll be watching AstrA 28E

Check back for pics later on tomorrow night
