I know this is an old camera.... my first digital camera was a Sony Mavica FD71.. it used floppy disks. I really liked that as at the time I had no USB connection on my PC and I liked the fact that I could just pull out the floppy and pop it into my PC's disk drive.
Grante the picstutes were sub 1meg quality, but they were for auction listings, so it worked fine for me. I never had a problem with it. It served me for years and years. I finally replaced it with a Minolta Dimage G400 and I am very happy with that camera. If you want a sturdy low res easy to use camera with floppies, check out the Mavica series... probably can get a good deal on eBay. |

Hmmmm I still use mine. FD-95 10x optical zoom 10x digital for a total of 20x but I only ever used the optical. Gots a crack monitor but still takes good photos.
I was big into macro when I was in Japan. Close ups of flowers with bugs on them and such. Haven't done much in the last two years being in Colorado. I also took a couple of business trips to Hawaii and took hundreds of beach photos. For quick use, I have a few little point and shoot digital credit card cameras I bought the family. Looking at getting a newer camera but I just can't justify the bucks anymore. I got the FD-95 for $500 on sale, was regular $899. I am sure I looked like a total geek with the setup. 3 Batteries, monopod, huge case with a Hawaii print pad on the strap. Huge camera with a matchin g Hawaii print pad on it's strap (both are still on the straps btw). A while back, I borrowed my office camera. Is a 5000 dollar digital. Amazing pics, but hell the file sizes are also amazing -- big that is. |
