Well the title pretty much sums up the question.
![]() Can Hispasat be picked up on a Sky Minidish (Zone 1) from the Midlands. Just wondering if anyone has managed to get a signal off Hispasat using such a small dish. :? Theres nothing else on 28.2e that i want to watch that isn't avaliable on my cable subscription so there isn't much point in leaving it at 28.2e when it could probably be better served at 30w. ![]() I think where my sky dish is there may be a chance that i could get it pointing at 30w just missing the tree that has blocked my bigger dishes from 30w. ![]() As its the highest dish out of the three i would rather know if it is possible before climbing up to about 20ft and probably falling off the ladder. ![]() Nano

Yes, it's possible.
There's a long thread on another forum detailing the story of a Sky minidish picking up Hispasat (albeit in the south of England) but also through a glass window! So if you think you have line of sight, give it a go. STICK

You may need to modify (cut) the plastic shroud around the lnb to get the skew round far enough.

Yes, that's very true. 20' up, getting the skew right on a standard Sky minidish mounting bracket isn't going to be easy...
I'm just sitting here with a pencil and paper trying to work out if you could just fit the dish upside down and tilt it right back, but my brain can't determine if that would flip the skew 28E to 28W! I'm pretty sure it wouldn't ![]()

The skew wont be a problem. :spite:
Its one of them new fangled Wistron ones that have an attachment like a normal lnb. ![]() Pity the dish may be a bit small though. I may just invest in another dish if i can get it on the wall before the wife sees it. Lets face it how often do you look up that high. ![]() ![]() Nano

Give it a go on your existing dish. I think you might be pleasantly surprised
