Hi bluebloodhunter, welcome to Satellite Help :welc2:

Hotbird has a few channels open at the moment. What's open and what's not tends to change dramatically over time, but one of the packages that's been open for a very long time is TPS.

That includes all the Multivision film channels which carry a wide range of programming.

Opening the 'hacked' scrambled channels is quite easy using ProgDVB.

You'll need to search out all the files yourself, but we can give you a clue, and help you set them up.

The best plugin at the moment is called vPlug.

Another good one is S2emu. The latter is easier to set up, so you might want to try that first, but the first one is better for TPS.

The other vital files you'll need are the 'key' files. These contain the 'keys' to unlock the encrypted channels. For S2emu there is only one file, and it's called 'softcam.key'. vPlug file names are a bit fiddly, but you can let vPlug grab keys directly from the Internet.

I hope this gives you somewhere to start. Have a search, and read the readme files that come with the plugins.

Basically, you just extract all the required files into the root directory of ProgDVB and then turn the plugin on via the menu that appears in the ProgDVB menus after you've installed it.

You could start at skystar.org

Be careful when downloading files though - there are plenty of viruses, dialers, trojans etc. out there - especially on upload sites. Scan everything before opening. We can't be held responsible for anything nasty you may come across!

LOL, only an unpaid one

I've written a few technical papers, specifications and presentations in my time though, as well as maybe a million lines of code

They're coming to take me away very soon now
