Can anyone tell me if my sky receiver and dish will work in Malawi with South African Sat TV services?

In a word mate, probably not.

The dish may be useable if the signal from which ever sat is strong enough.

With regards to the receiver i have heard of Sky receivers playing up if it cant get a signal from Astra 2, something to do with the firmware. The sky box is also very limited with regards to the symbol rate settings. Its either 22000 or 27500 and thats it.

The dish is too small for most of Malawi, and the Multichoice SA channels use a different encryption to Sky UK
