Default 'Top Of The Pops' makes Xmas comeback

Top Of The Pops will make a Christmas comeback in a one-off special.

The classic chart music programme - axed in June after 42 years on air - will return in the form of an hour-long show on Christmas Day, according to The Sun. Fearne Cotton will reportedly be on presenting duties.

In its heyday, Top Of The Pops used to attract audiences of around 15 million in the 1970s. But viewers began to dwindle in the late '90s, prompting various attempts to both relaunch and reschedule the show. A move to BBC2 in Spring 2005 proved unsuccessful, with the last weekly show being transmitted on 30th July 2006.

Good christmas day wouldn't be the same without Top of The Pops. Like not having the queens speech if you ask me.

I can honestly say, that I've never once listened to the Queen's speech...

Does that make me a bad person?

Top Of The Pops used to be great when you could understand the lyrics.
Maybe thats why it's lost it's appeal, or am I getting just old

You're all far too young - Pearl Carr and Teddy Johnstone came second in the Eurovision song contest in 1959 with "Sing, little birdy, sing your song" and I can still play it!! - AND I'm still under 100 years old!!!
