Hi. I have a skystar 1 which works well, but on some transponders i do not get a signal at all.....whereas my stand alone tuner picks up the signal from the same transponder. Is there a problem with my card? I have tried different drivers but still the same.....if the signal is not 100% quality....i get nothing at all. Your help will be appreciated.
One other subject i want to ask is picking up 4.2.2 feeds....can i do so with my SS1 card? With ProgDVB is it possible? In software mode only? I cannot try as my dish is not pointing at Eutelsat yet. If they are encrypted feeds....Mgeg2 -Encrypt is there a chance of watching these feeds? Also which websites i can find out what feeds will be transmitted beforehand? I know of Satelliweb but was interested in more.....i am particularly interested in a concert broadcast on New Year's Day from Vienna and would like to find out beforehand all information regarding frequencies etcetc so i don't miss it. Many thanks ![]() |

Hi jascha,
When Sid comes on line he is our feeds guru and may be able to help you. However, feeds dont get known until a few hours sometimes minutes before a broadcast. Re your SS1, do you have the transponder lists correct for the channels you are trying to find on your SS1? Check the transponder frequency on your standalone receiver and then do a transponder scan on your SS1. That may bring up the channels you are looking for.

Regarding the feeds, I've replied to your thread in the feeds section.
As for 4:2:2, yes it can be achieved on your Skystar1, certainly in software mode. I take it by your reference to software mode that you have a 'proper' Skystar1 with onboard hardware decoding? I'm not sure if it will do 4:2:2 in hardware mode, but I would be very surprised if it didn't. ProgDVB is a very capable piece of software, and will handle 4:2:2 OK.

Hi to Jascha
Just as an aside re the New Year's Day Concert, what do you hope to gain from satellite that the BBC doesnt provide on terrestrialTV? |
