Got most of the Sat's back now just by using the motor positioner, looks like the dish and motor have spun on the mounting pole approx. 13 degrees east. I'm getting the main Satellites from 42east to 30 West just need to tune in a few of the obscure ones now. Motor wont go much further than 30 West now so I can't get near 45West that I could get before, which makes me think it's moved Approx 13 Degrees.

Well considering the ferocity of the storms last night Id say we got away fairly lightly. For the new members its worth pointing out a quick checkover of general dish security is worth while after every storm - just in case.

Lost a few channels on 16e and down about 10% signal on 13e
All sorted now

I like my dishes near the ground now. Makes it easy to adjust them without the need for a ladder

I lost 19E and 13E but managed to prod the dish into position using a broom handle last night but by later on it had moved again. Up the ladder today I found the the bolts holding the arm on which the LNBs are mounted had slackened and the whole thing was pointing too low for the centre of the dish. Once I had tightened them up all was well again although I'm now getting 74% signal and about 57% quality on Hotbird and about 68% quality on Astra. 28E has not moved at all and it's 77%/76% so it's all watchable and any fine tweaking will have to wait. In your experience, everyone, is that a reasonable signal and quality for Paisley - Latitude: 55.8469; Longitude: -4.4265 (that's the town centre) ?

Howdy mate,
I'm in Lanark , not too far away.
I've got 95 % signal and 72 % quality on my tm 1600, and 80 cm dish off e-bay, on hotbird
I think your signal and qaulity should be a bit better :?
hope this helps

I reckon you could squeeze some more out of your Astra/Hotbird setup, but you will usually get a slightly poorer signal on a multi-LNB dish setup because neither LNB is at the optimal focal point.

I did discover that some of the wedges which I put in under the LNB bracket had shifted so the LNBs are not pointing as high into the center of the dish as they were. It's still blowing so I'll wait until it calms down and re-do the wedge to raise the angle of the LNBs up a bit and that should improve the signal strength.

It's a beautiful warm sunny day down here, and I've been out playing with my new inclinometer

It's not easy to use on the Moteck motor as the top is curved, but I'll hopefully be able to take a reference off the split in the body casting.

I know that both my elevation and declination are both set (mathematically) too high. I just have to prove it.

Actually, I just want to play with my new toy

Doesn't look to clever down here

Still got to set the dk grey 80cm dish dish up for 13e & 19e, and add another lnb onto the 90cm dish for 10e

Then after that its move the cacky beige coloured 80cm dish to 7e and the minidish over to 30w now that the leaves have gone off the tree. I might even see if i can add 2e onto the beige dish as well at a later date

What else can you get with a minidish. I know you can get 19.2e 13e and 30w. Anything else come to mind.
