I am on the side of a mountain here in south wales it has been very windy the last few days both my 1.2 Andrew and 1.8m prodelin have not moved at all, In bad weather buying high quality dishes with polar mounts pays off big time is would never use a diseqc mount one would not last 5 minutes where i lived on a even small dish,

10.40 p.m. and it's calmed down at last. My two dishes are still doing the job.

Strangely, the only picture and sound interuption every so often is on Freeview from our local terrestial transmitter (Black Hill), especially when BBC Scotland give us their local news. Everything received from my dishes is solid as a rock whatever the wind is doing.

Barometric pressure in Paisley at 10.25 p.m. is 1018 or 30 inches of mercury.

Its a shiny transparent dish and I've just found a US forum which recommends Rain X for this very problem. So I'm off to Halfords tomorrow, might even use it on the car windscreen too.

If I'd gone for a motor on this sized dish it would have had only one LNB on a more stable arm.
My arm is slim (comparatively) and in this wind it moves under the weight of 4 dual output LNB's.

Here we go again in Paisley - gale force winds and torrential rain all day. Thought my car was going to be blown off the road on the M8 Motorway in the centre of Glasgow. 5.50 p.m. and it's pretty fierce out there. Batten down the hatches and watch your dishes folks. Roll on summer!!

And snow to come next week, but it is the time of the year for it. It is not too bad here now and I don't think that it will get any worse.

Very best regards Wez

Half a mile down the road 3 big beech trees have blown over in the last week - but my dishes seem to be more or less withstanding the gales so far. The 19E dish has moved very slightly again as Ive lost Bahn TV which seems to be a particularly weak tp here. Its always one of the first to go when the dish moves.....
