Guess whos 80cm dish has just taken flight
Well i think i've been very lucky. Theres a small dink in the side if the dish which has straightened out ok and the mount is full of soil. The cheepo amstar lnb has also bought it, its totally knackered. It has a split up the side of it and the feedhorn bit has been smashed. other than that very little damage has been caused.

The side of the house is ok aswell
Fortunately the Silvercrest lnb i had on ebay didn't sell so i wont have to buy another. It should be fine for Hotbird

At least its saved me the hastle of getting it down anyway

Just removed the second dish off the wall before the same thing happens to that.

I think its going to be next week now before i set the dishes back up.

Hi,
I've still got Art on 13E at the moment but I keep having to re-align with the remote. I can only do that for so long before it'll become unwatchable.

Mind you it looks like they're having as many problems at their end as well!

Cheers,
Kev.

Sorry to hear you are out of commission for a few days nanochickin. Better safe than sorry though. I really should anchor my loose 19E dish down a bit better as well. Im not too worried about the other 3 - if they go, the fence goes with them which will stop them going any distance.....

I don't know about that AS, I've seen quite a few flying fences today :roflmao:

Hope nothing happens to them mate, I know how frustating it is knowing that you have to set up 4 lnbs again.

My Televes Parabol 90 on its temporary mount keeps moving aswell so i've just given up. Its just bloody typical that the only dish that hasn't moved or just blown away is one of Uncle Ruperts >

Oh well i will just have to see what Sky FTA &Televest is offering for the next few days until i get them up and running again

This is a post & rail affair with strong metal chain link along it. Short of ripping 20m of fence out the worst thats going to happen is the dishes get mangled as they hit the grass. If we get a gale bad enough to rip out the entire fence 3 rather scruffy dishes will be the least of my worries!

Maybe I'm lucky but I have been watching everything on satellite tonight and the wind and rain have been howling for the last three weeks - my two dishes have not budged and all pictures are as steady as a rock.

Greetings from Paisley, Scotland, where roads have been flooded and the rain has battered down now since the clocks went back - it's winter now!! Never mind, in another three weeks we can enjoy "Dinner for One" on every German station on Hogmanay (that's New Year's Eve to those of you south of the border) - don't miss it.
