My observations of signals received, with the equipment as per my signature, now that the wind has blown the leaves off of my neighbours trees. The LOS is through the spindly upper branches of the trees.
11616V, 2893, 3/4, 70+strength and 50+quality 11044V, 29800, 3/4, 80+strength and 60+quality 11031H, 3750, 3/4, 70+strength and 30+quality 11096V, 6400, 3/4, 70+strength and 30+quality 12639V, 2894, 3/4, 70+strength and 20+quality. Signal goes on 11031H & 11096V & 12639V during heavy rain. BH |

11044V 29800 3/4
is an easy catch with an 80cm dish here in southern Scotland. The other one I can get without too much difficulty is 11096V 6400 3/4

Most of the avaiable channels have now gone onto a symbol rate of 44951 which my TM1500 doesn't seem able to cope with, certainly at these low signal levels. I've never seen SR's that high before. No great loss given content but interesting nonetheless!

Hiya JK
:welc1: to satellitehelp. I'm rather surprised that your TM1500 cannot see that SR of 44951 on 11044 Horizontal. My TM5000DA and TM 4100D have no problem with that, neither does the C-Tech 1500 that I also have. I agree the content is nothing special to me, but just like to know what I can pick up. Cheers. BH |

This transponder won our 'Highest SR' competition last month
Increasing SR seems to be a common trend over the last year, as I guess everyone's trying to jam more and more into a finite window, and High Definition starts picking up speed.

Never one top miss a challenge, Blackhawk! Tried again today and the TM1500 will produce something like you see on 4:2:2 transmissions (ie. no good!). However the Skystar 2 is quite happy with the high SR's which I will bear in mind for the future.
I'll keep my eyes open elsewhere for any TM related comments on this. JK

Hi JK
No challenge meant. The Technomate TM1000 & TM4000 & TM5000 & TM7000 & TM8000 series of receivers have in their spec. Advanced Specification System Capabilities Fully DVB compliant Demodulator Type: QPSK & FEC or DVB pr ETS 300 421 Symbol Rate: 2-45 Msps A SR of 2-45 Msps, but they are known to go down close to 1 Msps. I have not heard of the upper limit being exceeded. The three boxes, that I mentioned, give clear pictures on that transponder and SR. I might get out the Homecast S3000 to see if that is capable of working at that SR. Cheers BH

LOL, the challenge may not have been intentional, but it's producing some interesting results!
Anyone else get this TP? What kit are you using?

Update.
Got the Homecast S3000 receiver rigged up and working. Rock steady picture and sound on the transponder in question. Spec sheet of the Receiver User's Manual states; Tuner & Demodulator. Symbol Rate; 1-45Msps/SCPC, MCPC BH
