This video camera replaced my HITACHI (PAL) VM-E648LE which had a killer
X 240 Digital zoom. This is currently my all purpose camera. It is a digital Hi 8mm. It also uses a memory stick. I like the idea of being able to alternate between taking true stills of an object that I also videod. Camera has a "touch screen" interface which I find quite nice.:buttrock: I like this camera a lot especially for under $400.00 With the Memory stick I can do a quick transfer to my PC without actually connecting the camera via USB. I currently use a "scandisk" 512 MB memory stick with adapter. I recently purchased two additional lenses for this camera both from "conklin" a) digital wide angle (0.43)..this lense serves dually as a macro. Good Lense. b) digital tele lense (-200). This lense may have been a waste of money. The Camera is already a 20X digital zoom. At max zoom the objects are blurred and are not much closer than with the regular zoom. Save your money if you have this camera and is attempting this upgrade.

Don't you find it is easier to plug the camera in rather than pull out the memory and put it into a rader? I keep my digital camera cord plugged into my PC at all times. That way all I have to do is plug in my camera and I am ready to go.

Each time I unplug my Camera I have to execute the "unplugging the hardware" procedure before I disconnect the USB cord, and sometimes I forget ......It is much easier (for me anyway) to just remove the stick (I touch 1 once and it jumps out into my hand), and put it into the computer disk drive.
