I have just picked up this post from JKF

"This morning news was passed to me that Monty passed away in his sleep peacefully...ending months of pain that his body was suffering due to a prolonged period of cancer.

My heart goes out to his wife and family and sincerest condolences.

Monty was a great friend to many on this forum for the last several years and was active in the Sat Scene from the beginning.

What I remember most about Monty was his love for people....he genuinely enjoyed helping others without reservation. Many a decision made on this forum was influenzed by Monty as he always had a level head and prevented on more than one occasion me from going over board.

I will always remember with fondness the softness of his voice when he spoke and though I never got to meet him in person I feel honored to of known him for the time that I did.

If you were friends of Monty or u knew him or he helped u here....please use this thread to say a few words....

In rememberance of Monty the forum will be closed on the day that his funeral will be held and u will be informed of that day shortly.

It's with great sadness that I must say Goodbye Monty......"

A sad day for the sat scene.

Seen the name on one or two forums but didn't know the chap to speak to.

Sad news though, and respect goes out to anyone who contributes in such a way to the satellite scene.
