Default Skystar 2

Ordered a skystar 2 today off ebay

Thought it might come in handy for footie feeds as a lot of these seem to be 4:2:2 (And no, I don't pretend to know what all that means ops: After all I'm only an electrician not a magician )

And Stick speaks very highly of them so that's good enough for me

I've also ordered an Invacom 0.3db Quad lnb to go with it.

This should allow me to have a bit of a play without peeing our lass of by hogging the TV every night 8)

Cheers,
Kev

 Yes indeed. It's a great piece of kit, makes a superb dish positioner (as you'll find out) and it's so useful to have a sat-tv window open on your PC

Let us know if you want any help setting it up.

You're gonna love it.

LOL, and when you get a Dreambox, you can page her and ask for a cup of tea to be sent into your den :roflmao:

I tried that once.

Only once though... ops: :roflmao:

My PC is in the living room, which is a good job really as that's where I spend all my time. The girlfriend won't touch the satellite and I won't show her how it works so that's another bonus :spite:

I probably won't get things set up until over Christmas so any questions I need to ask will be over the holiday period

Then I'll follow Sid's advice and do a test scan on 7E

Wonder if I'll be able to pick up any speedway feeds next summer :? That would be good

Cheers,
Kev.

There's sometimes speedway on a few of the regular German (?) and Polish channels too

Polsat used to be good, but it's dark at the moment.

Ah well not to worry, season doesn't start until March/April so plenty of time yet .

Just a progress report on how I'm getting on with this card

I installed it on Saturday, which was pretty painless, but I've not had much chance to have a play apart from an hour or so earlier on tonight. I've just ran a cable from the loop out on my TM for now so I can only use it when the TM is switched off. This is only a temporary measure to make sure everything is working OK. Checked some channels on 13E and they were working fine.

I've got a cable connected to the LNB coiled in the loft and waiting to be ran back outside and down to the living room (where my PC lives ). I will probably get this done over the holiday's. This will be better than the cable which is ran around the living room via the back of the sofa that I am using now.

Then it's just a case of getting to know the In's and outs of how to get the best out of it

Cheers,
Kev
