A relaunch & repositioning for The Wrestling Channel, with more martial arts coverage.
TWC Fight! (UK) Eurobird 1 11259 V 27500 2/3 fta wrestling & martial arts (yes I know its a wrestling screenshot, but I cant stand more than a few seconds of idiotic men in tights and their dreadful "sport"....)

I agree with Mick McManus being the real stuff, along with Jonny Quango,Kendo Nagasaki, Pat Roach and the like but I think when big daddy and giant haystacks came on the scene they were the beginning of the end for british wrestling.

I only watch wrestling for the likes of Trish Stratus etc
but they are not on this channel unfortunately. Anyone remember the Bushwackers? Now they were funny when WWF first came on Sky One along with Ultimate Warrior Jake the Snake Roberts etc

It does show some of the old British "Professional wrestling" - those were the days when ITV could only afford wrestling and horse racing while Auntie Beeb had all the "big" sports.
Sad to say, no McManus yet, but at least the fights are clean. Yes, I know they were fixed in those days too, but you could never predict the outcome. |

How did they work out who was going to 'win'?
Did the victories all go to the highest bidders? Maybe they played cards for it beforehand?
