Stuff changes on a daily basis for sure. It depends on how current you want to stay.
I tend to rescan the whole lot every couple of months if I can, but scan new or modified transponders on some satellites every day. Not all, but at least one or two. If you want to stay current, read the news we post here, or check our 'New Channels' section. If something takes your fancy, then scan it! A new satellite launch/commissioning will obviously be a hotspot for rescanning, as what normally ensues is a big reshuffle of channels and frequencies. The big thing to remember about all of this is that your scan is generally only as good as the state of your stored transponder lists. They need to be maintained if you stand any chance of keeping on top of the changing channel situation. HTH STICK

There will be a way of adding new tp's to your satellite receiver. You can either do a full sat scan or a single tp scan. If the scan is fast enough just rescan the entire satellite once ot twice a week. (I do them almost every day to find the new stuff )

Have a look at Lyngsat.com. Choose a satellite. If you look in the left and column, each row in the table is a transponder, and it lists which channels are transmitted on it.
There should be an entry for each transponder in the table in your satellite receiver (in the ideal world). Each transponder has a frequency, a polarisation (usually Horizontal or Vertical) an SR (Symbol Rate) and a FEC (a fraction, which actually defines the automatic error correction capability of the transponder). Nice to hear you're a regular visitor. Ask anything you like ![]()
