Just edit the transponder list on one of the satellites you will never use - something out past 50E would be most suitable.

I'm sure I checked the manual before, and there doesn't seem to be a legitimate way to add one. There is a channel editor for the Techno's though (PC based), so that may be something else you can try.

Thanks stick and analoguesat,
Another question, when I edit an existing sat how much info do I need to change? Can I then swing onto the heading and just do a scan? Thanks Geoff |

I would change the name, the orbital location and modify the tp lists. DSave it all then move the dish to the appropriate position and scan away.
Which satellite are you missing??

Thanks analoguesat,
there are a lot on the list that I am using, its the one posted on this forum somewhere with the arc, plus some black siluette (cant spell that) buildings beneath, its out of a magazine I believe so it may be a bit out of date. There are loads on there that are not on my list in the TMS 1000D, I select just a few as examples, Arabsat 26e Eutelsat 21.5e Eurobird 1 28.5e Turksat 1B 31.3e and so on. Probably a simple answer, but I dont know it! thanks Geoff |

Forget about 21.5E and 31.3E. 28.5E is the same as 28.2E. Just take a look at Lyngsat/Flysat/KingOfSat etc. click on the satellite you are interested in then click on the footprints to see if you are likely to receive a signal.
Analoguesat posted a list of satellites with their strongest transponders recently. They will be the satellites you may get in the UK depending upon your equipment and line of sight. BH

Yes, good advice. Check the footprints first. There's no point chasing rainbows. I know you're interested in reception from Spain as well, but the maps will show you at a glance.
Don't forget that some sats utilise several different beams with different footprints. Many are wide beams covering most of Europe, but some are not. A few have very tight spot beams too. If you think you should be able to get a given sat/beam/transponder and can't, ask and we'll let you know how feasible it is, or give you a signal strength/quality report. ![]()
