Unless you are using it mainly for PC viewing, I would go for a Panasonic Plasma. I have yet to see a LCD panel that displays SD pictures that are acceptable for footy or fast movement.

If I was buying a large TV, I think I would go for either the Pioneer PDP-427XD Plasma or the Panasonic Viera TH42PX600 Plasma.

The best large LCD panel by far that I've seen is the Sony Bravia KDL40W2000

Hi Sid, before splashing out at Currys, have a look at soundandvision.com. Their prices are knocking the pants off everone else at present.

No luck with that URL Jim, or .co.uk

Having had a quick Google I guess it's http://www.soundandvisiononline.com/snv/index.asp

All my plans for a new TV and Dreambox next year have gone down the toilet - I've got to part-ex my car after finding a load of water in the oil... :'(

No, my beloved BMW. Probably a head gasket, but I don't fancy doing it on a six cylinder - too flippin heavy!

It needs a new clutch and two new tyres (at £150 a corner) too, so it's time to go.

I had the water in the oil problem early this year in my Rover V6. Being a poor pensioner, it was do it myself or bin it, so I stripped the engine and repaired it. Fingers crossed it is still going well.
