If you are going to have access to German TV on NYE this is one programme you HAVE to watch. Its transmitted on most of the German public channels and is a complete cult show - theres at least 17 showings over NYE - and several stations run it as their final progarmme of the year

I watch it every year - "same procedure as EVERY year"! and still have a videotape of the broadcast taken deom 2003 when I received it on analogue. This year I'll receive it on digital and it will be interesting to compare the picture quality although my previous analogue system gave very good results. Happy New Year to all.

Diapson - make sure you also catch the cartoon version on Kika at teatime - its got "Bernt Brod", a sheep and a shrub in it and is very funny.

Referring to the camera angles being wrong - there was a second version which Freddie Frinton didn't like but what we see on German TV is the definitive one. There was also a colourised version which looks quite good and you would not know that it was originally filmed in monochrome. I have a documentary on videotape somewhere which explains all of this.
