I have been trawling the internet for most of the day looking for a genuine subscription card
![]() I have found a Sky Italia Pre-paid card on the Mondo package which i am asuming is the same as UK Skys Six mix. :? The big question is can this card be setup to work in a dreambox. I know a British Sky card can be setup as long as you have the serial number of the cards twinned set top box. Is this the same for the NDS card for Sky Italia :? I'm assuming that Sky I uses the same sort of NDS system as Sky GB in that the card requires a stay alive signal which would require a receiver serial number. I know they cant be twinned to a UK receiver so would i need a Sky italia receiver just to get a serial number. A bit of help would be appreciated on this one . ![]() ![]() Nano

I've actually found somewhere where i can get a Sky Italia Prepaid Mondo card direct from Italy for about £140.
![]() Its just the Sky Italia receiver bit that might screw up my plans ![]() I wouldn't buy anything off that Digicams place. They're a rip off IMO. Everything is twice as expensive as what you can get direct from the country of source. There are suppliers out there who will supply prepaid card to people outside their own country its just a case of finding them. ![]()

Yes, Sky Italia no problem. The Italian NDS system is slightly different to the UK one, but there is a similar workaround.
The box-id thing shouldn't be required either, but I'm not 100% sure for the Italia sub you mention. The UK 1-6 mix jobbies don't.

Morning, A customer of mine is currently looking for S*y Italian,
just to clarify this post, if i purchased an HD box from fleabay. It & a official viewing card, would this work ? and does the HD box need to be connected to the internet/phone line ? or would something like a humax HD setup work ? Many thanks, C.S.

NO!!! As the Sky Italia card chip takes more power than a UK card and can get so hot it melts in the card reader, I know as I foolishly did this and I ended up cutting open the card reader to free the card and the card was a write off. Use a Smargo instead.

Somebody mentioned a hardware mod for DM500/DM600 to lower the voltage so the card worked OK in the internal reader. When USB is available, it does sound like Omnikey or Smargo is the best bet.
