I believe that new firmware is available from 19.2E OTA, if not 28.2E as well, but the channel editor for the PC is probably the best way to just keep the transponder details up to date. It also provides a good way to back up your settings and channels too.

As Nano says, there should be no need for a coax connection, but read the instructions supplied with the editor for all the details you will need.

i have downloaded channel editor from humax and got it working with null modem.where do you get the latest channel list from ?.
very poor help info from the humax site.

Hi Paul.

Many of the manufacturers are poor at support once they have your money. Humax are one of the better ones!

Regarding updating your channel lists, you have maybe four main options.

1) Upgrade the firmware regularly. This should include an updated transponder/channel list, but won't be 100% up-to-date or complete.

2) See if you can find just an updated channel package at Humax to load into your existing firmware.

3) Hunt around the various forums. Some owners keep their data bang up to date and are kind enough to then share their work with others in the form of a file you can just load up. AVforums has a large Humax section, and there is a Yahoo group too. At least couple of other members here have the HDCI-200. Maybe they have some more ideas in this respect.

4) Get to know Flysat/KingofSat/Lyngsat/SatcoDX etc. and keep tweaking the list yourself on your PC. We also try to keep everyone notified of changes to transponders and new channels etc. here at Satellite Help.

I think most people go for the last option. It's not as much work as it sounds, and can be a bit of fun finding and adding new stuff. As I said before, it's a great way to backup your data too in case you mess up what's on the receiver.
