Once you have the transponder lists set up even the standard TM1000 is blazingly fast as scanning. Mine is hopeless at the blind scan, but excellent for fast scanning even crowded birds with 80 tp's like 28E.

I have a TM1500CI+ super, and it says "super" on the face of the receiver on the bottom right hand corner of the receiver below "TM1500CI+".

I'll post a picture tomorrow, if I get a chance to.

My new (1month old) TMS 1000D has "super" under the wording "TM-1000 D" on the box picture (note the lack of the "s" )

The word super does not appear on the actual front (or anywhere) on the receiver.

But I was sold this as a Super so if it does a blind scan slow I will want some money back as well!

I havnt tried it on a blind scan yet, I will do so as soon as I get my dish pointing the right way after the recent high winds.

This is a big help, thanks everyone. I honestly have no idea about scanning, but I doubt I'll need to do blind scanning very often, and this is definitely a new receiver, so I'm assuming the "bug fix" super is there, as well.

I've started a new thread in the newbies area about my installation experience so far (as in, no experience yet), so we'll see how many questions I have about my receiver once I get things hooked up! :?

Thanks again, this was really helpful stuff.

I got a TM1000D Super in December from Ebay and it definitely has Super printed on the reciever. It was sold as used but still sealed etc the bloke had bought it and not even opened it. I got it for £46 inc postage.

Dam, I paid £57 for mine, still I got 12 months warranty :-)

Anyway I tried a blind scan on 19.2, after 6 hours it was 50% through!

Then we had apower outage so I guess it would have taken 12 hours!

Is anybodys quicker?

The Super should do it in an hour or two, but it's a pretty specialist function and not often used.

Try it on a 'smaller' satellite (fewer transponders) if you want to see it complete, or limit the range in the search menu.

I am pretty sure when I did a blind scan on 19E it took about an hour but I didn't really time it. Once the winds have died down and my dish is back in position I will have another go and let you know

Mine, sold as super, is not. "Fast" blind scan of 19e took about 12 or 13 hours (once we got past two, I stopped timing). Sure, not necessary to do it very often, but geez, not what I paid for. Need to take this (and the grey instead of black dish) up with the seller. >

I think I'm about done with eBay in this country! :spite:

Thanks again for all the help, all, I'll finish off my "installation thread" later today (and post some pics in the pics area, too).

Best!

Rob

There are some very good British traders on eBay but unfortunately there are some bad ones.

Everytime i have had problems its been with traders outside of the UK.

I have used efes.satellite & systemsat_direct in the past and they have proved to be really good eBay traders for satellite gear

They have sold me good quality Satellite kit at a good price and everytime it has been delivered within 2 working days. The items have always been exactly as advertised as well

I buy most of my Sat Stuff of eBay (about 75% up to now)

Its just a case of finding a good trader and sticking with them

Nano

I do not have anything to do with the eBay traders above, nor do i get any financial gain from mentioning them.

They are just good honest traders who i have dealt with before on several occasions
