don't know if I can justify Sky's fee for just the movie package each month if I don't watch it enough.
Get a DigitAlb card mate. You get 5 good movie channels, 4 documentary channels and some good stuff for the kids to watch as well. And if your feeling a bit mucky there's also a porn channel

There's also National Geograpic (3 Flavours Turkey, Iberia and Germany) and Fox Crime (FTA ATM) thats open on 16e using BISS keys as well as Fox Sports (although i haven't managed to get that one here)

I've seen DigitAlb cards on eBay for as little as £125 for 12 months for the basic Movie package or £230 for the full package including the Sports channels.

The other alternative is an Art Card which i'm sure everyone else will fill you in on if you ask them. Expect to pay £50 upwards for a six month card. There are some movie channels on there as far as i know although i think it is mostly sports. :?

To get DigitAlb you will need at least a 90cm dish, although a 1m would be better.

By the way the Technomate 1500 is a good receiver for using a DigitAlb card with

Hope this helps.

Well thanks to the advice on the board here and I'm actually getting somewhere now. It looks like if I want to buy a card at anytime I'll need a Technomate 1000 CI+ (Or have I read it wrong and i need a 1500?) Also, the person I'm buying it from will supply absolutely everything I've mentioned (TM 1000D, 90cm dish, motor, cable, F connectors, bracket etc and fit it all for £360) I can upgrade to a 1500 or 1000 CI+ for a few pounds extra before I buy it if I decide to. I'm just quizzing him on his installs after I've been reading about dodgy installs on a thread here and it's got me worried, so I'm making sure he does a good job before I order it.

If you want a card buy a 1500. The standard 1000 does not have a card reader in it.

Indeed. A card reader slot being different to a CI slot of course. One is for a card, the other for a CAM or CAM/card combination.

Don't worry about the installation, but you are certainly doing the right thing by reading enough to know the difference between a good installer and a bad one. A very wise move.

The difference is often in the detail
