Default Trying to find Hellas Sat 2

Have had this set up for over 10 years, but in high winds the dish moved and now i can not find Hellas sat

Have the correct parameters set in the box:
12524.00 V
30000
5/6

Signal strength is high - anything from 73 to 79
Quality is poor does not change (from 10) how ever much the dish is moved.
Been moving the dish to find Turk sat (an easier sat to find) but still have good strength and no quality
Any ideas ?

Ignore the strngth - its effectively just a measure of the electrical connection between the box and the lnb! Point the dish at the ground and I guarantee you will still get excellent strength.....

Move the dish slowly and give the receiver a few seconds to catch up each time you move it. If the dish is mounted on one of those inverted "L" type poles have a look to see in the dish has tilted forwards slightly at all - I had problems over new year after my Hotbird dish was tilted.

Thanks for the reply, you are right re the signal strength, tilted it up down, every which way and still got good strength.
I have a feeling that the dish maybe tiltied to far upwards, could this be a possibility.
Will have another go tomorow !

You might find one of the utilities in this section useful:

I like the SMW link software - it's really simple to use

Well, I had another go this morning, managed to get perfect recpetion from Turk Sat (42 E).
Hellas sat is at 39 E - there was about 4 transponders that i got quality of 30. But the transponder i wanted had quality:10
Does this mean i am very close as i had other channels but not the ones i wanted.?
Guessing i just need to twick a bit ?
Thanks for all the links, i will check them out

Assuming the channels you want are on the European beam then yes you probably need a few tweaks.

I FOUND IT !!!! well nearly.
The channels i want are coming in with the quality flickering from 10 to 30 so its all very bitty !
Have tried to move the dish a fraction to the side but then got not signal so i moved it back, obviously don't need to move it to much.

Try moving the lnb backwards and forwards in its holder

Also make sure you have the right skew on the lnb.
