Oh, OK - I misunderstood your first post as meaning less than 50% quality. You obviously meant signal strength.
Well, yes - the strength is down a bit by the look of it. Is the screen pic above with the Skystar connected directly or via loopthrough? I see that all the transponders listed as working are high-band vertical. When connected via loopthrough, is it always the same 3/4 of channels missing, or does it depend on which transponder the Technomate is tuned to (high/low & vert/horiz)? Are you still missing 3/4 of channels when connected directly, or is it less? I'm just trying to ascertain whether it's really a signal strength problem, or a loopthrough-related problem. The difference in signal strength between direct-connection and loopthrough-connection doesn't seem to be that great.

Signal strength is the same whether connected directly or through the loopthrough. The problem is definitely with the card. It seems to be only picking up the horizontal frequencies and not the vertical and only the low frequencies. Won't pick up anything above 11720 from what I can see on altdvb.

yep just looked at that screenshot and noticed that. Can you tell me what the LNB settings should be in the diseqc section on altdvb. I have been messing with it and now can't pick anything at all up. Should it be commited uncommited raw or simple? What should the high and low be set at and the switch should it be 0 or 11700000? Will sort this bugger out as its really winding me up now as I know the skystar works fine. By the way its the same in altdvb progdvb and dvbviewer.

The LNB settings are stored in the application, so if all three apps are doing the same thing, it's not the LNB settings.
A copy of mine from Alt-DVB attached though. The settings at the top are standard for a universal LNB and shouldn't be changed. I'm experimenting with my positioner settings at the moment, and have them set to 'raw'. Your DiSEqC switch setting should be set to 'committed'. To be honest m8, I think it's to do with it being looped through your Technomate. You need a direct feed to the LNB, so I wouldn't get too stressed until you get your dish sorted and a twin LNB etc. or whatever it is you decide to do at the pointy end ![]()

Cheers Stick I get the same result even with the coax connected directly to the LNB without the loopthrough thats why I have taken the technomate out of the equation. Will have a go with these settings and use commited in the diseqc settings and report back

Just done a scan of 19E using your settings stick and got the attached results. The rest of the scan was no signal

If you're using 9750000, 11700000 and 10600000 and getting those results, then it suggests that your LNB isn't switching up into high band. The numbers are definitely right. You can check to see if you have the same numbers in ProgDVB too.
If you're using the monoblock, then you can try 'Simple' as the DiSEqC type. Sounding more and more like a dodgy LNB now, but could still be a setup issue. Something not right with the switching though I think.

Cheers Stick but I would have thought that if it was the LNB I would have the same results with the technomate which is fine.

Seems to have sorted itself out
Very strange indeed. Quite weird actually. Not touched anything and now getting same channels as technomate even vplug is working properly ![]()
