Default HDTV demo in supermarkets

I was wandering around our Tesco Extra last night doing the weekly shopping..

In the entertainment section theres the usual wall of tv of all shapes and sizes from 14" portables right up to 36" flat screen monsters.

And what was playing out on every single tv - including the 40 quid portables? BBC HDTV.

The screen settings were all to hell and back - squishy vision (tall thin people) on the smaller screens

They must be running it through an rf distribution system which isnt set up right as the picture on at least 2 of the tellys was snowy :roflmao:

Some advert for HDTV.

Typical isn't it. The vast majority of the population still haven't got to grips with 4:3, 16:9, 14:9 etc. and now they have to experience 'poor quality' HDTV too.

How will it ever be successfully sold to the nation, so that we can all enjoy it with this kind of stuff going on?

I really do wonder if some of these demonstrations are really High definition - I get pretty good definition off satellite on a standard AIWA 19 inch TV - the trick is go up close to the screen and look - I think some of it might be a bit of "kidology"!! - it's not how big it is, it's what you do with it!!!
