I prefer not to watch video on PC, TBH.
That's why I have my NAS with half-terabyte of video stuff on it and two network players: DLink DSM-320RD and softmodded Xbox1 @ XBMC.

As to sat video, I have to say I am still using VCR (you know, thingy with big black plastic cartridges, called VHS tape

) for recording. And then, if I like something, I just capture it to PC, which is a pain. Luckily. most TV programs are so bad, I don't transfer it to PC often.

Looks like K+ on Hotbird is gone and it was replaced by PITV "Persian TV from London".
