Default Getting Started

Hi All

Just ordered a drwambox 7025 ans should be with me 2moro!

Ive read a lot about this box and is an upgrade from my eurovox.

So just a few quick questions?
What is the best image around to use?
And do any of you have any tips for me?

Cheers

Hello Mark.

I rather like the name Dr. Wambox

Sorry, it just made me giggle.

Your new toy should give you heaps of fun. My advice would very strongly be to leave it with the standard image on for a couple of weeks and give it a real good testing in that time. I've heard of more than one having a hardware fault, and the retailer refusing to accept it back because it was 'modified'.

Don't let the fear of that spoil your enjoyment of it. Chances are yours will be fine - but to flash it too early could prove costly. That's my top tip

Best image? Not sure, but you can be reasonably confident that the Gemini image will be good.

Get yourself over to _http://www.i-have-a-dreambox.com/ and signup. The Gemini2 2.10 image in the 7025 section of the database looks very tempting.

There aren't so many images for the 7025, so you can probably try them all within a week before settling on your favourite.

We'd love to hear about your experiences with the 7025. I don't know of any other users here, but I'm sure we can give you plenty of support none-the-less.

Welcome to Satellite Help!

Yes, please do. Because the 7025 uses a different chipset to the other Dreamboxes, it has to have all the software re-written/re-compiled for it, so watch out for that and make sure you get the correct versions

The firmware is generally referred to as 'Enigma2' etc.

Yes, Gemini2 2.10. See my post 2 above.

I would use one of the multiboot tools available for the 7025. You could start at:

_http://www.oozoon.de/main_en.html

Flashwizard 6.3 doesn't handle the 7025, but version 6.4 will apparently. It's currently in beta.

SDT (Satnews Dreambox Team) have done an image too (Colosseum 1.3).

You need to staop and restart the cam every time you change the keys. On the 7020 Gemini image its blue button, green button
