Hi everybody,
Apologies in advance for the lengthy one, I have a number of questions relating to decoding encrypted channels on the Technomate. Have now got my receiver TM-1500CI+. Working great on FTA stuff so now need to get to work on encryption. Firmware version is 1.83 (I think) dated Aug '06. There is no facility in the 'System Info' menu to select CAS or BISS menu (as per some 'how to ' videos I have) & nowhere to enter keys. I guess I need to "patch the receiver" to allow decoding of encrypted channels? I've ordered a null modem cable but before I hook the receiver up to my PC, I want to tidy up my understanding. On the 'how to' videos, the s/w is v1.1 Nov 2005. This confuses me because it would appear that I have a newer s/w version in my receiver but no ability to enter keycodes, no CAS/BISS menu! Is it possible that my receiver does not have the ability to 'soft-decode' encrypted channels? In preparation for the patch (once my cable arrives) I have a "Loader" application which has 4 tabs and corresponding files - Channels, Keys, Software and TPS. Channels and Keys I understand, I'm guessing Software is the patch? What is TPS? Many thanks in advance for your help. Drat |

Yes, you need to patch the receiver to be able to select those menu functions
![]() You need the latest patch from Darkman, and it will totally overwrite your existing firmware, so it doesn't matter what it is now. The 'software' is the patch, yes. TPS is a French provider on Hotbird which requires a special key bundle - provided daily on a separate file called TPS.bin IIRC. I split your post, to make it easier for others to find too 8) I'll also move it into the Technomate section at some point. You may find this thread interesting. HTH

Hi dratsab.
The bad news is that there is no easy way to build a list of what's open by encryption type, because channels are generally opened by provider. These also change on an almost daily basis - hence all the chat you see on the forums. For your receiver you can currently get daily keybundles for TPS - the French provider on 13E. D+ is Digital +. This is a provider which operates similar packages on both 19.2E and 30W. Keys come and go, and tend to change every few days. Premiere is also an excellent German provider on 19.2E which is open on your Techno at the moment - well worth a look. ORF too on the same satellite. Also ABsat on 13E and a few small cryptoworks providers scattered about. Some BISS stuff is open, and some channels using DCW. Basically, you're going to have to do what we do, and visit the forums regularly to find out the latest news ![]()
