Default Some interesting Sky rumours

If this info is true (and at the minute its only rumours) theres interesting things happening mid February

1) Sky+ record will be free for everyone with a Sky+ box no matter what package they are on, i.e. 2 mix, etc

2) The Sky+ box will be the standard box from then on. No more ordinary Sky box's will be shipped after Feb 12th

3) Multiroom subscription will drop (the meaning of this is unclear - does it mean the tenner is being cut?)

4) Sky will be giving away something totally free for 6 months, (no further details at present).

Some of these may apply to ROI ONLY.

And:

5) ROI are finally getting their own FTV card which includes RTE 1, RTE 2, TV 3, TG 4, Channel 6, BBC 1, BBC 2, Sky 1 Sky 2, Sky 3, Channel 4 and Channel 5...

Let's hope some of it is true. Good gossip though

More rumours.

Changes to the basic mix packs:

Sky to reduce the number of entertainment mixes to 5 by merging News and Events Mix with Knowledge Mix to create Knowledge & News Mix. Also sports related channels moving from News & Events Mix and Style & Culture Mix to create Leisure Mix. This will include MUTV, LFCTV, CFCTV and Real Madrid TV (indicating that Real Madrid TV will become encrypted as it is currently FTA? Does this mean Liverpool are launching a tv channel as well?)

1 Mix = £16 plus £1 for each additional mix. (with the ability to have any number of basic mixes.)

Add Sky Sports for £20, Sky Movies for £15 or Both for £25 (so top rate Sky World increases to 46 quid)

None of this is confirmed - the info has come from a survey site where folks have been filling in a survey about future trends with Sky.

I thought Liverpool already had a TV channel? Maybe it was web only? I'm sure I've watched LFCTV coverage on ART...

That pricing would mean my 4-mix goes up a quid to £19 a month - not too bad. My target is to watch all the interesting programmes from the Discovery channels before November, when my subscription ends.

Record them all onto DVD as they only show reruns on Discovery channels or old channel four programmes now. I remember watching TLC on analogue satellite they had all the really good building shows from the US like This old house and hometime. All i get on real time is shows ive seen on CH4.

True, but I've got a lot of catching-up to do

I love all the car restoration and customisation programs. In fact, I love it all!

My family have to wrestle the remote off me some nights...

Other than the footie and the odd flick, that's more or less the only TV I watch.

Any news on the rumours? My sister had a phone call offering the whole $ky package for £8 a month! Not sure if any of you guys have heard about this?

No news yet AFAIK. Might be a week or three yet.

Does your sister already subscribe, or were they just cold-calling?

Just cold calling. My sister thinks that a cheap freeview box is a waste of money. According to my Brother in Law she was arguing with them on the phone!!
