Default Blue cap lnb

The last dish I obtained had an ancient blue cap lnb on it (probably an Amstrad but the label is so faded its illegible) As usual with new kit I listed it on the equipment list on my web site and forgot about it.

(Well I left it on the dish and shoved the dish in the bottom of the hedge to block up a hole!)

A couple of days ago I had an email from a radio hobbyist asking if he could have it - as far as I can tell its for a 10GHz audio link hes experimenting with.

So my weekend task is to find out if the damned thing is still operational, (then set a dish up for the NSS8 launch coverage on Astra 1D!)

Hes welcome to it - it would only clutter up my sat-bits toolbox for evermore

"Home-made 10GHz radio telescope spots earthbound alien invasion force" :roflmao:

The blue cap has been safely delivered to its new home, so I expect reports of alien invasion forces anyday.

(A bit like Stargate SG1 but without the space travel )

Sand it down and slap some satin black paint on it and it will be as good as new

Yep its awaiting the summer when i can get to work on the paint job, was going to use white paint as a tribute to amstrads early dishes. Still see loads of them around on my travels mostly with large paches of rust and flakey paint. Spotted a BSB minidish yesterday and a Squarial on a pub.
