Default Astra 3A 23.5E

Finally managed to get a weak signal off this difficult bird. Ive managed to scan 11515 H 27500 3/4, although the picture is breaking up badly on the fta channels and its hardly worth bothering with.

Cant get anything off any of the other 3A tp's carrying fta channels, but I'll tweak the lnb a bit more at some point to see if I can improve things.

ATM it is off the lnb I set up for the NSS8 launch coverage being carried on 1D - and that one is so strong I didnt need to tweak the lnb too much..

1m offset dish - on 16E.
23.5E via offset 0.2dB MTI BluLine LNB.

Edited to correct dish description.... ops:

I'm rather surprised that you saw anything at all. I think that you must just be in the 47dBw contour. With your dish being a good 7 degrees off of boresight, it must be picking up a signal 6-10dBs down for a start, from what I remember of aerial test results in my past.
One good thing is that if you got a sniff of a signal you should be able to pick up a reasonable signal when you line the dish up to 23.5 east.

I've had a play this evening and i've managed to get some stuff of Astra 3As German Beam

The BER indicator was going up and down abit but the picture was watchable with only slight pixilation

Not bad for a 90cm dish IMHO

strange as you have 1.8metre dish so i would have thought you'd get good reception of this satellite ?

Wod

I was baffled at first too; but 23.5E seems to have two sats - Astra 1D which is easily received and Astra 3A which is what the guys are talking about i.e. the difficult one.
