Default sl65 upgrade

ok have to admit it I'm now hooked

I got an sl65 from idle to make use of the sky dish on the house when i moved in
now have 2 dishes set up and 3 lnbs

my thinking now is that I wish Id bought a dreambox (I'm a Linux geek) or a technomate for its easy patching

while I'm thinking about which way to jump dose any one know of any patches for my sl65 ?

thanks Arden

There probably is, but finding it is something else. There used to be a patch for the Chess SL35 which would run on the old SL65 but the Comag now runs with a different chipset (apparently.)

If someone has a working (new) Comag 65 patch then please let us know where it can be found - but don't post it here!

In the absence of any reliable leads, I think I would be inclined to leave well alone. You could easily end up with 240V doorstop.

It's up to you whether you take another intermediate step in the receiver market, but you know where your true destiny lies

"if the front of your box says DVB-S SL65 then you have the latest one and there is no patch ATM."

ok flash works

used this method

Connect up receiver to PC with null modem cable via RS232, I used laptop with Win98.
Start with receiver switched to FTA channel and load up Upgrade_DVB.exe, browse to and load the SW_SL65_A.bin file. Press next and follow the on screen instructions, it will load into memory then burn to flash and takes about 5 mins.
I then started up the receiver, set the language and scanned Astra. With the receiver still connected as before and still on a FTA channel I started KeyUpdater_04Sept2006.exe, browsed to and loaded the Key28012007.bin file. Press next and follow on screen instructions, loads to memory then burns to flash. When finished thats it but switch the receiver off at the back switch (Power Off) for a few seconds then back on.
To activate/deactivate the cam go to the main menu and press 2580. To get to the key editor go to main menu, down to the Sat icon press enter and scroll down. When using the key editor you change from letters to numbers by using the FAV button.

but there are no keys with it just an editor am I been thick where do i get the keys from?

Arden

there are two files SL65A_Key28012007.zip SL65A.zip
there is a key updater.exe in the key archive and the key file
