Default Al-Zawraa TV no longer broadcasting on Eurobird satellite

On 1 February BBC Monitoring observed that the Iraqi Sunni television channel Al-Zawraa, which specializes in showing videos of insurgent attacks, is no longer being broadcast on the Eurobird 2 satellite at the 26 degrees east orbital position, operated by Paris-based Eutelsat Communications.

BBC Monitoring noted Al-Zawraa broadcasting on 11623 MHz vertical polarization on 31 January. Subsequent checks made on 1 February showed that this transmission had ceased.

The station continues to broadcast from the co-located Arabsat-owned Badr 4 satellite at 26 degrees east (12073 MHz horizontal polarization); and on Nilesat at 7 degrees west, 11747 MHz vertical polarization.
