Default DT100 Cable

Has anyone heard of DT100 Cable?, I bought 50 meters of it today, I asked for CT100 but the sales guy told me that DT100 is the same. It appears to be double shielded in copper, with foam inner. Is it the same or is he shoot talking me?

The only DT100 cable that I am aware of is audio cable so I think he is ************ you.

Is it actually labelled DT100 or is it actually CT100?

He cut it from a 100M drum that was labelled DT100, the only marking on the c@ble is "534B" which I would imagine is a batch no.

I'll try and get a photo on here of it, if I can get my Digi-cam to work, just installed Windows Vista, don't know if it will work with it.

Yes, I think your supplier is probably right. No rubbish cable is going to be double shielded in copper. My cable is PF100, and the specs are exactly the same as CT100.

http://tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/CAPF100W.html

TLC used to sell this cable in 100m rolls for under £20, but their prices are no longer competitive.

The cable I got looks pretty much the same as the PF100 in the link you provided Stick, so it looks like I assume it's of reasonable quality. I could have bought the 100M for £37.60 but the 50M is enough for my needs at the moment.

I'm planning on running a new cable to my SS2 as there is a join in the cable I am using at the moment and there seems to be some sort of "arking" at the connector and I think there might be moisture as well.

I've disconnected my SS2 for the moment until I get the new cable run, and sealed properly with amalgamating tape at the LNB.

UPDATE: We (my son and I) ran the new c@ble to my SS2 yesterday and all is good, the signal to my SS2 is much improved.

While we had the ladders out we decided to have a bash at re-aligning the motorised dish, as it has moved on two seperate occasions during the recent high winds, although we managed to get most satellites back using the motor positioner.

We set-up on Thor @1 West and managed to get the other satellites using Usals (for the first time) and to-day we have even managed to locate Astra 1D-3A @ 23.5° East and Badr-3/4 - Eurobird 2 @ 26° East (Again, for the first time) I was able to watch the Chelsea v Norwich game FTA on Al Jazeera Sport 1

I think this might have had a lot to do with the fact that there wasn't a cloud to be found in the Scottish sky today, I think I might struggle with my TD88 when normal weather is resumed.

That might be next on the agenda, a bigger dish.

Yay!

That's what I need to do really, I'm missing a few sats on the Eastern side because I never actually finished setting mine up properly ops:

I watched Chelsea on SportTV2 @ 30W this afternoon as 26° East is one of the few sats I can't pick up. I'll get around to it in the spring when it's warm enough to venture out the back door and I've cleared the backlog of other jobs I've somehow inherited...
