Default German sat prices

Going to Munich next week for a couple of days and wondering whether German high street prices on sat stuff are any good?
Maybe anyone could recommend some good shop in Munich and/or vicinity? Landshut for example.
The only problem is that I won't be able to explain exactly what I want My German is limited to Ein, Zwei, Drei, Polizei and Hitler Kaput.

I go to Mainz with work quite a bit and there is a place there called Saturn

most things are cheaper than uk ie the same price in euros as we pay in pounds

its a big chain a quick google search looks like there is one in munich

it was all out on the shop floor so could just pick up what you wanted and take it to the till

German prices are certainly some of the cheapest in Europe for satellite hardware. I've bought more than a couple of things from mail-order firms there, and from some Dutch firms too.

It'll be interesting to see what you find on the high street.

I looked at Pro-Markt (www.promarkt.de), Saturn (www.saturn.de) and MediaMarkt (www.mediamarkt.de).
It looks like they've got FTA receivers for next to nothing. However, PVRs seems to be expensive.

I'll get back from Germany e/o next week, so if I'll find something, you'll know.

The only HD recievers in the Munich Saturn were the Pace and a Phillips. The Phillips cost 400 euro, or 200 euro with a Premier contract.

Update (I am still in Germany, so more will follow). Walmart (think ASDA) here is selling Skymaster DVR8040 (same as 8080 but with 40GB HDD) for 119 EUR. To me it sounds like a very good price but a) no USB and b) single tuner.
They also sell Skymaster DXL 9800, which is dual tuner model but no HDD for 89 EUR.
Saturn is selling SEG dual tuner USB 160GB HDD receiver for 269 EUR. What do you think about it?

It sounds cheap enough to buy, not that I know anything about it as a receiver. If you don't like it, it would probably go well on eBay :?

I doubt it will ever see a patch though.

Just a small diversion - you can get a litre of good wine for the equivalent of 40p a bottle and malt whisky in Germany in supermarkets for the equivalent of £6 a bottle (Glen Grant) - the rest of the price in Britain is duty!!
