One especially for Stick
![]() Chelsea Football Club, current champions of the English Premier League, today launched a football branded Channel on YouTube, a first on the site. The Channel, (www.youtube.com/chelseafc), will include Chelsea FC content, daily news and archive video footage as well as other innovative content including feedback and contributions from fans. Additionally, a few lucky fans will have a chance to be featured on the club’s television channel, Chelsea TV. Chelsea Chief Executive Peter Kenyon said: “We are delighted to work with YouTube. Chelsea is the first football club to move into what is clearly one of the fastest growing new media platforms. This will allow us to offer our fans exciting Chelsea FC content in a very unique way, as well as an opportunity to reach a whole new audience.” The branded Channel will have the same look and feel as the recently redesigned Chelsea website, www.chelseafc.com, representing the latest landmark in Chelsea’s multi-media platform strategy. Content will be provided by Chelsea Digital Media, the joint venture subsidiary owned by Chelsea and Sky, which runs Chelsea TV and www.chelseafc.com. ![]() I don't know how it will fit into the other Chelsea TV offerings (i.e. on other 'platforms'), but I'll take it if it's free. I imagine that current subscribers paying the £6 a month extra on top of their Sky subscription won't be too happy though if their mates can get it on YouTube for nought. It'll be interesting to see how it develops.
