Default Astra1 28º East

New to this game so Hi to anyone reading this post.

Bought an Digital Mini-Satellite system but the instructions do not suggest the best way to Line up with the satellites!

Can anyone tell me exactly what 28º East etc. means? Azimuth or Longitude/Latitude? :?

Thanks,

Ron

Hi Ron, and welcome to the forum

It's all a bit scary isn't it?

Don't worry. All you have to do is make sure your dish has a clear line of sight to the satellite, and then it's simply a case of adjusting the up/down-ness (elevation) and side-to-side-ness (azimuth).

If you have a compass it will help. 28.2E actually means...

From due south, swing the dish 28.2 degrees toward the East (i.e. to the left, if you imagine you are standing behind the dish and aiming it like a gun).

Here's a neat tool to help you.

Drop by again and let us know how you get on. If you're still stuck we can try some other things to help.
