Default FTV card & sky+ question

Just a few questions

I'm looking at getting a Sky+ box. I wondered how you can get a FTV card. Do you just phone up sky?

Also in the future could I upgrade it to get sky+ functionality for £10 a month? Is this possible or not as the box will be second hand and i know cards need to be paired to the box.

I had heard that some are getting full pvr function on their Sly + box and a freeview card. Obviously only on the ftv channels.

You can get an FTV card from Sky without buying the full £150 'freesatfromsky' deal - check out www.freesatfromsky.com for contact details.

The pairing of the box shouldn't be a problem, as Sky can re-pair your legit FTV card with any box AFAIK.

Full Sky+ functionality should only be available to subscribers, although the rumour is that Sky will be pushing the Sky+ box as the standard digibox and dropping the £10 a month premium very soon now, so that might change.

Hope that makes sense, but it doesn't read very well methinks

Once a ftv card has been activated it will work in any box.

Yes, in fact any of the six-mix subscription packs will transfer from box to box quite happily. It's only if you add anything else to your subscription (movies/sports etc.) that you will have to get Sky to re-pair an un-paired card.
